FSBO vs dealer listings on Prevost List
How for-sale-by-owner and dealer inventory appear in the directory, and what to check before you reach out.
Short answer: Dealer listings are indexed from participating dealer inventory. FSBO listings are private-owner posts through Prevost List. Both can attach to a coach record; contact and negotiation still happen with the seller.
Dealer inventory
Most public coaches today come from dealer sites we crawl and parse. On a coach page you will typically see:
- Dealer/domain name and outbound listing URL
- Asking price when the dealer publishes one
- Stock number and location fields when present
Use Dealer coverage to see which sources are indexed. Claimed dealers may get richer placement over time; scraped inventory still supports research and history.
FSBO (for sale by owner)
FSBO is the private-party path: an owner lists through the site rather than only through a dealership. Expect clear FSBO labeling on the coach page when that source is active. Request info / contact flows still require your consent language — dealers are not silently emailed without the product rules for that path.
What to verify either way
- Is the listing marked active?
- Do photos look current and exterior-forward?
- Does market history show churn or long stale dates?
- Are you comparing against similar converters/years (Browse, Converters)?
Research first, contact second
